Asheville School's American Studies Students Visit D.C.

Sixty students traveled to Washington, D.C. March 5-9 for the annual American Studies spring break trip. Highlights included the National Portrait Gallery, the Smithsonian, the Library of Congress, the monuments on the mall, and both a tour and evening services at the National Cathedral.

Students Celebrate World Awareness Day

Asheville School students recently celebrated the School's annual World Awareness Day with a theme focusing on "The Food We Eat." Students participated in a variety of workshops throughout the day including Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony, Plastic Yarn Weaving, The Environment of Literature, Bee Keeping, Mask making, Nature Poetry, Early Spring Gardening, and World Awareness through Music, to name a few.

Asheville School's spring sports season has recently begun, but not without some big wins and impressive showings by our winter sports teams in their final competitions.

Varsity Boys Basketball Fight for Strong Season

Our Asheville School Blues have given it their all this season, finishing 8-9 overall and 5-7 in the CAA this year. The team's biggest wins came at Carolina Day School (62-53), with a come-behind win in the second half, and in the East Rutherfordton Christmas Tournament, where the Blues defeated R.S. Central High (67-58), with high scoring in the game by fourth former (sophomore) Malik Risher, and fifth former (junior) Leonard Martin.
