Asheville School Heavyweight Wins Tournament

Asheville School Junior Ryan Shiver showed off his wrestling skills in Charlotte this weekend when he won the heavyweight championship at the Holy Angels Invitational wrestling tournament. During the two-day tournament which finished on Saturday, January 7 at Charlotte Cathlotic, Shiver showed why he’s the state’s top-ranked NCISAA heavyweight wrestler.

Blues Fall to Eagles 14-10, Claim Runner-up Trophy in Championship Game

A sea of Asheville School students, faculty members, parents, and alumni surrounded the Blues players after the game, cheering them on for playing with such heart and never giving up in Friday night's 14-10 loss to the First Assembly Eagles. Down by 3 with 4 minutes left to play, Asheville School senior Malik Risher returned a SouthLake Christian kickoff for 95-yards to give the Blues a 21-17 win and the chance to play for the NCISAA Division II state championship for the first time in school history.
