Alumna Amy “Bellamy” Young’s new show Scandal debuts tonight on ABC

Asheville School alumna Amy “Bellamy” Young, Class of 1987, will be in ABC’s new show Scandal, where she plays First Lady of the United States opposite Tony Goldwyn’s President. It premieres April 5th, and will follow Grey's Anatomy on Thursdays at 10:00pm.

Scandal was created by Shonda Rhimes, who is the mastermind behind Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. It stars Kerry Washington as a character based on real-life political 'fixer' Judy Smith,” said Young. “I'm very excited about it, and hope it will be beloved. Young recently worked on a horror film titled “The Cottage” with fellow alumnus Doug Nabors 1993. She not only played a role that was written for her, but she was also an executive producer for the project. In addition to these projects, Bellamy is also a recurring character on the show Criminal Minds, playing a love interest for Thomas Gibson's "Hotch" character.
