Asheville School Hosts 5K Race, Presented by Dunkin' Donuts


Enjoy a run in West Asheville to celebrate longer days and warmer weather! Asheville School is hosting its first 5K race on Sunday, May 5 at 1:30 PM. This is a family friendly event and all are encouraged to participate.

All proceeds from the event will go to support financial aid for outstanding students in the Asheville area and to support Asheville School Cross Country and Track programs. The cost is $20 per person, and the first 300 runners will receive a T-shirt. Click here to register for this event. Additionally, Asheville School will host a one-mile Kids Fun Run for participants 10 and under free of charge.

“This is an amazing place to run, and we are excited to host our first-ever 5K for any and all interested runners who want to experience a family friendly run through the trails of Asheville School,” said Associate Head of School John Thorsen. “Come and join us for a great afternoon on May 5.”

The 5K course at Asheville School will roughtly trace the shores of old lake Ashnoca located on the Asheville School campus. The event will begin and end on Aborgost Field. The course will run on a mix of grass, cement and mostly on well maintained double track trails along the old lake bed. Trail shoes are not necessary.
