After winning the first six games of the season, Asheville School’s boys’ varsity basketball players are hopeful this victorious beginning will continue.
As Opening Day approaches, nearly half of the student body is already on campus. Blues football preseason practices began two weeks ago, and cross-country, field hockey, soccer, tennis and volleyball preseason practices began this week. Click here to watch a video from their training.
On May 23, Asheville School students, faculty, and parents gathered in Sharp Dining Hall for a seated meal, followed by a celebration of this year's outstanding student athletes.
After breaking five school records and receiving one individual state championship trophy, the Asheville School boys’ and girls’ track and field teams were proud of their effort in the state competition this year in Raleigh.
In his senior year, alumnus Michael Jones 1994 set Asheville School’s pole vault record at 12.5 feet. Nearly 20 years later, and after a year of being tied with the record, senior Will DuBose is the new record holder after clearing 13 feet at the Volunteer Classic at the University of Tennessee on April 20. Less than two weeks later, in her first season of track and field, senior Ashton Caudle vaulted to 8 feet to break the girls' record in a meet at Christ School.
