Academic Support Services
At Asheville School, we are deeply committed to nurturing every student’s academic growth and success. Our Academic Support Team partners closely with all academic departments to provide individualized guidance and resources tailored to meet each student’s unique needs.
Whether students are honing study habits, mastering time management, or preparing for a major assessment, our team provides guidance every step of the way. We offer comprehensive support, including:
- Strategic academic planning
- Essay composition and writing development
- Test preparation and study strategies
- Executive functioning coaching (organization, time management, prioritization)
- Skill-building for long-term academic success
Through personalized attention and a collaborative approach, we ensure that every Asheville School student develops the confidence and tools to thrive in the classroom and beyond.
- Open 8:30 AM – 3:15 PM (voluntary or mandatory)
- Staffed by 2-3 dedicated team members providing:
- Academic skill and content support
- Executive functioning coaching
- Separate setting for make-up work, extended time, and accommodations available:
- 8:00 AM – 3:15 PM
- Evening study hall
- Academic Saturdays
- Structured independent study from 8:00 – 10:00 PM:
- Dormitories (3rd – 6th Form)
- Rice Reading Room (5th – 6th Form)
- Childs Conference Center (3rd – 4th Form)
- Peer Tutoring: Sunday – Thursday from 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Meet with teachers for extra support:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 2:45 PM – 3:15 PM
- Students who meet the criteria for accommodations at Asheville School may be eligible for accommodations on standardized tests, such as College Board SAT/AP or ACT.
