Mark Your Calendars for the Winter Musical
Rehearsals are underway for the winter musical ‘Into the Woods’! This enchanting production follows a baker and his wife on a quest to lift a curse, crossing paths with fairy tale characters along the way.
Our students are hard at work memorizing lines, mastering choreography, designing sets, and hitting all the right notes to bring this magical story to life!

The John M. Crawford, Jr. Art Gallery presents “Tales of Transparency: An Artistic Retrospective.” The exhibition, showcasing the watercolor paintings by local artist John Duncan, opens on Thursday, September 19. Duncan’s medium of choice is watercolor, a form that captivates him with its vibrant, transparent colors and the spontaneous interaction between pigment and paper. His work reflects a deep appreciation for the unpredictable beauty that watercolor offers, making each piece a fresh and dynamic experience.
Community members are invited to a reception in the gallery on Thursday, September 19 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. for an evening with the artist. The exhibition runs through Friday, October 25.

The John M. Crawford, Jr. Art Gallery presents “pa·ti·na; something grown beautiful with age or use.” The installation draws inspiration from antique clothing discovered in Asheville School’s Graham Theater and celebrates the beauty found within distressed and disintegrating pieces. Kathy Leiner brings together the antiquities, items from her personal collection, and expertise from costumer Kayren McKnight to invite the community to contemplate the beauty and stories we might find within the aged and discarded.

The pa.ti.na Gallery Happening is open to the public and offers the chance to meet the artists (Kathy Leiner and Kayren McKnight), enjoy intermittent movement performances, and create a collaborative story in response to the exhibit.
