Rachel Kuehn has been named the N.C. Junior Girls' Player of the Year by the Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA) and the Carolinas Golf Association.
According to TYGA, "The North Carolina Junior Player of the Year award recognizes one girl and one boy who had the most successful year in amateur and junior golf events at the local, state, regional and national levels."
Kuehn, who has verbally committed to play for Wake Forest University, had an outstanding year competing in golf. In 2017, she won four tournaments including the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association State Championship, the Carolinas Women's Amateur, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls' Tour Tournament of Champions, and the Bubba Conlee Junior.
In addition to her tournament wins, Kuehn had outstanding performances across all events she played in this season. "In the 15 events Kuehn played, she placed in the top 15 eleven times and finished with a tournament stroke average of 73.38," writes TYGA.
