The boys’ varsity basketball team overcame a slow start to overwhelm Hickory Christian for a 70-45 victory, the Blues’ first under new Head Coach Nick Whitmore.
Play loose, have fun. This was the pregame mantra imparted upon the boys’ soccer team by Coaches Mettee and O’Brien before the team’s first round playoff game against Caldwell Academy. The free-and-easy mentality paid dividends, as the Blues thrashed the visiting Eagles, 5-1 to advance to the second round.
Asheville School announced on October 15 that it will reestablish a golf program for boys in the spring of 2020 and for girls in the fall of 2020.
In making this announcement, Head of School Dr. Anthony Sgro said, “I am very excited that we will be reintroducing golf to the Asheville School community as a Varsity sport. We look forward to seeing the team strengthen in the coming years. I want us to have a very competitive program that will be highly successful at the conference and state levels.”
