Lecky grew up in Maryland with a lacrosse stick in his cradle. A two time All-American in College, he pursued an entirely different sport subsequent to his Collegiate Career. After a twenty year stint on the USA Canoe and Kayak Team, Lecky came away with a Gold, Two Silvers, and a Bronze in World Championship competition as well as a Gold in the World Cup series paddling whitewater double canoe slalom. He represented the USA twice in Olympic Competition in 1992, and 2000 before hanging up his international paddle. He has travelled and raced in more than 40 countries and is willing to tell some of those stories.
Over the course of his career he has coached many different sports including: Football, Wrestling, Lacrosse, Swimming, Skiing (Downhill ad Nordic), Horseback Riding, Ultimate Frisbee, Basketball, and Archery. He has been a National Team Coach for Canoe and Kayak. An aficionado of all things outdoors he loves to be in the high country. He is a Summer Camp Counselor for Camp Mondamin in Tuxedo, where he went to camp as a boy.
Just before coming to Asheville School Lecky taught English and Social Studies and led canoe trips for French Broad River Academy.
In his off minutes he cherishes his time with wife, Chapman Davis, their four kids, two cats, and a dog.
