He represented the USA twice in Olympic Competition in 1992 and 2000 before hanging up his international paddle. He has travelled and raced in more than 40 countries and is willing to tell some of those stories.

Over the course of his career he has coached many different sports including: Paddling,Football, Wrestling, Lacrosse, Swimming, Skiing (Downhill and Nordic), Horseback Riding, Ultimate Frisbee, Basketball, and Archery. He has been a National Team Coach for Canoe and Kayak. An aficionado of all things outdoors he loves to be in the high country. He is a summer camp counselor for Camp Mondamin in Tuxedo, where he went to camp as a boy.

Just before coming to Asheville School, Lecky taught English and Social Studies and led canoe trips for French Broad River Academy.

In his off minutes he cherishes his time with wife, Chapman Davis, their four kids, and two cats.

What are your favorite hobbies?
I like all things outdoors: hiking, paddling, biking, skiing, sports, and sharing these activities with others. Being outside nurtures your soul and connects you to the energy of the universe!

What is the most inspiring part of your job?
Working with clean slates and hopefully passing on some of the knowledge that I gathered from my heroes and mentors.

If you were a superhero, what would your superpower be?

I would like to be able to breathe underwater like aqua man.
