B.A. Tulane University
M.A. San Francisco State University
Caroline was born and raised in the Southeast as a child of immigrants, and the early exposure to a second language (Dutch) had a lasting impact. She studied French in New Orleans, followed by a Spanish immersion experience as a volunteer in the Mission District of San Francisco. She began her teaching career at private schools in the Bay Area and then in 2003, moved back to Asheville, teaching Spanish and raising her kids. In 2014, she left a job as a Spanish language interpreter at Mission Hospital to join the language department at the Asheville School, teaching Spanish since 2014.
Caroline loves to travel and experience new cultures and languages, mostly in Latin America and Spain. In her free time she enjoys trail-running and hanging out with her kids.
