Dear Asheville School Friends,
I am hopeful that there will be many of you interested in experiencing this debut trip to the Amalfi coast of Italy in April 2025.
Preliminary information for our trip—itinerary, cost, information forms—is below. We will read, though there is no obligation, in preparation for the trip, from several works set in Naples and this special coast of Italy. There will even be a possible opportunity to participate in a Zoom class in March 2025 to discuss these readings in advance of our travels. Priority in the Zoom class will be given to those taking the trip. At a minimum, we’ll have an opportunity on this trip to discuss our reading in the context of our actual Italian experience.

We will need to secure an accurate count quickly, and space on this trip is limited, at this time, to eight rooms. The initial deposit ($750, payable to Asheville School) is due by November 8, 2024 (please send to Anne DeGennaro, Senior Administrative Coordinator in the Administrative Office, Asheville School, 360 Asheville School Rd, Asheville, NC 28806) and the full payment (a total of $4500, less the $750, payable to Asheville School) is due by December 15, 2024 (please send the remaining payment, as before to Anne DeGennaro).

Spring 2025 Dates: April 5 – 12
Participants will depart the United States on Saturday, April 5 with an arrival in Naples, Italy on Sunday, April 6 by 1:00 p.m. The group will depart after noon on Sunday, April 12 from Naples.

Trip Fees:
- Base Tour Price: $4,500 USD includes hotel accommodations, bus transportation in Italy, continental breakfasts, all dinners, and all activities scheduled as part of the tour (museum entrance fees, etc.). There will be an added cost for single supplements.
- Required Tour Deposit: $750 is due by November 8, 2024 to reserve your spot
- Final Balance: Remaining $3,750 is due by December 15, 2024.
- Additional Costs: International air travel, lunch, incidental expenses.
- Fees are calculated on 2024 exchange rates and are subject to change. They are based on double occupancy and include lunch on arrival day, continental breakfast and dinner each day, and travel and fees for all group activities included in the itinerary. This does not include airfare, daily lunches, health or travel insurance, or personal expenses.
- A single hotel room is available for an additional $350.
- Travel insurance is at the traveler’s discretion; however, it is strongly advised.
