Every year, the Admission Office selects students to be part of the Hoste Society, a group of students that is responsible for giving tours to prospective families, hosting overnight student guests and generally helping with the campus visit process for admission guests.
Interviews are underway for this year’s new Hoste Society members, and Associate Director of Admission Derry Roberson says that she has seen a lot of great candidates. “We are ready for the upcoming admission year and excited for our new group of guides,” said Roberson. “We are looking for students who are excited to share their Asheville School experience in enthusiastic and honest ways.”
The Head of the Hoste Society for 2019-2020 is Claire Cummings 2020 (pictured). She says that she loves working with the group because she gets to give families a real look at Asheville School and the community that makes the school unique. “I want to show people what Asheville School is really about,” she said. “I hope prospective families learn that as a student, you will not leave this school without having a personal connection with at least one faculty member that will last a lifetime.”
Cummings says this year is a special one because she will get to work with her brother as he applies as a new student. “My brother is going to be touring this year, so I am really excited to be involved with that process,” she said.
