Asheville School graduate Mitchell Frisch 2017 has earned All-Academic honors from US Lacrosse, the national governing body of lacrosse.
Only four athletes received All-Academic honors from the independent school division within North Carolina. These scholar-athletes are acknowledged for their skill in the sport, sportsmanship, and high academic achievement in the classroom.
Mitchell Frisch is a great example of these values.
At Asheville School's May 27 commencement, Frisch was recognized for his exemplary academic record. The Pen and Plate Club of Asheville recognized Frisch for his achievements in the Humanities, he received high commendation for his senior demonstration, and he was welcomed into the Cum Laude society. In addition, Frisch was honored with the A. Chase Ambler Jr. Award, which is granted by vote of the faculty to recognize a graduating senior for unselfish service to the school.
Asheville School Athletic Director Carl Boland says that Frisch deserves this recognition from US Lacrosse. "This is a tremendous accomplishment for Mitchell," Boland said. "It's a testament to all of his outstanding work as a scholar-athlete throughout his time at Asheville School."
Frisch was recently invited to play in the Bull City All-Star Cullen Classic for Cancer, a game featuring showcase teams made up of some of the best high school lacrosse players from across North Carolina. He also received All-State honors from the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association. Frisch will enter Duke University in the fall.
