All-WNC Cross Country Honors

Asheville Citizen-Times released their All-WNC Cross Country Selections for the 2021 Season and to no surprise some familiar Asheville School names were on their radar! A huge shoutout and congratulations to: 

  • Abby Smith ’24, 1st Team All-WNC
    The third-place finisher at the NCISAA Division 3 race in 19:33. Smith had already won the CAA meet in 19:57. She also posted a 19:46 at the Hare & Hounds Invitational and was third at the Asheville Christian Academy meet in 20:08. 
  • Stella Stringer ’22, Honorable Mention
  • Ginny Thorsen ’24, Honorable Mention
  • Jaden Deutscher ’23, Honorable Mention
  • Scarlett McCarroll ’24, Honorable Mention
  • Henry Russel ’22, Honorable Mention
  • Connor Smith ’22, Honorable Mention
  • Coach Smith, All-WNC Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year
    The Blues won their program’s first state championship, with three top-10 finishers and four in the top 15 of the NCISAA Division 3 race. Asheville School scored 50 points, winning comfortably over second-place Cary Christian School. At the CAA meet, the Blues had five of the top eight runners, winning the conference crown with 22 points.
