The John M. Crawford, Jr. Art Gallery will host a new exhibition, “Luminous Skies,” featuring the artwork of Jo Ridge Kelley. Join us for the opening reception on Thursday, March 23rd from 5:30-7:00 p.m. to meet the artist. “Luminous Skies” will be displayed in the gallery through mid-April 2023.
Jo shares the following about her “Luminous Skies” exhibition:
Bringing the beauty, drama and energy of the morning and evening skies to life on canvas is living a dream! I’ve spent countless hours sky watching, observing light patterns and atmospheric effects across the land since I was a young girl growing up on a dairy farm in North Carolina. I continue to be captivated by the incredible cloud formations as a storm is brewing, or the dance of coral pink clouds along the horizon. Working in oils from small plein air studies to very large canvases, I’m always on a mission to express the joy I feel when I’m surrounded by nature.
