Beginning Thursday, March 23, a new exhibition takes over John M. Crawford, Jr. Art Gallery in the Walker Arts Center – Marking a Moment: Selections From Amplifier – An Art Machine For Social Change will hang through Friday, April 22.
Amplifier.org is a nonprofit design lab that builds art and media experiments to amplify the most important movements of our time. “At Amplifier, the work we do building these symbols matters – but not as much as the work you do carrying them into the world. This art is a partnership with every living soul that encounters it. The way YOU hold it, and where you hang it determines what kind of tool it is. You are what makes this art powerful. You are the amplifier.” – Amplifier.org
This exhibition is powerful. It features activist artwork from around the country that helps create social change.
The exhibition has 12 Augmented Reality activated pieces from the Reframe Campaign. A downloadable app, via QR code, will allow you to experience these pieces in a unique sensory experience. The artwork will come to life!
We invite the community to come experience these phenomenal works of art. Gallery Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
