Joshua Wong 2018 Commits to Roanoke College

Asheville School senior Joshua Wong committed to swim for Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia during a ceremony on May 9. Wong is excited to join Roanoke's team and plans to study business.

During the commitment ceremony, Asheville School Athletic Director Carol Boland congratulated Wong on this achievement. "It takes a lot of hard work to secure an opportunity to swim at the college level," he said. "On behalf of the athletic department, we wish Joshua congratulations and wish him well as he travels on to Roanoke College."

Wong says he picked Roanoke College because he felt an immediate connection with the men's swim coach. He is excited to study in the school's undergraduate business program.

"I know they will help me reach my highest potential," Wong said. "I am looking forward to training hard and improving my times. I know once I am in college that my life will be a lot more focused on swimming. I am looking forward to it."

Asheville School Head Swim Coach Frank Kriegler says that Wong has the power to be a great asset to Roanoke's team. "Joshua is very athletic and has a lot of potential," he said. "I am looking forward to seeing what he will do as a college athlete."
